Nestled at an altitude of 2500 m above the sea level, Kothi is a tranquil, quaint village, sited at a distance of about 16 km from Manali. The place is well-known for providing an unbelievable vista of the deep gorge and the Beas River running swiftly through it. One has to cover a one-hour steep trek from the road to reach here. The beauty of the site is magnified by thermal springs that come out of the rocks. Besides being a marvelous sightseeing spot, Kothi gorge also makes a preferred choice for paragliding. The ideal time to visit this place is during May to October.
About 20 km away from Manali towards Rohtang Pass, a spectacular, stupendous place welcomes you with white snow all around - Gulaba. Here, one can have the glimpse of snow covered curvy hill roads and the glittering peaks of the mighty Himalayan Mountains. Moreover, the place provides a plethora of exiting winter games, such as skiing, paragliding, sledging, yak riding and more. Though, it is not accessible in winter because of heavy snow fall, the Manali-Rohtang road offers way to the travelers till Gulaba towards the end of February or early March. Rahala Falls is a wonderful natural waterfall, sited at an elevation of about 2500 meter, and 16 km from Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass.
